Pedometers & Step Counters
There is a general myth that many people hold that they are getting enough walking done naturally. Many people believe that the walking they do at work or in their everyday activities is enough. This is not true for most people. However, the only way to find out if this is true or not is to measure that amount of steps and calories burned.
The best way to measure these things is with pedometers & step counters. These are wonderful pieces of equipment that help to give a realistic idea of how much walking is being and how much it is benefiting the body.
The general accepted amount of steps that one wants to get in is 10,000. The best pedometers are ones that will measure the distance walked, number of steps, calories burned, the amount of time that it take to get the steps in and the has a stop watch and alarm.

They are useful but step counters will not provide all of the information that is needed to effectively measure the amount of activity that is being put in.
