Choosing the right workout to commit to can be difficult. There are so many different types of exercises that can be done to sculpt the body. Gyrotonics are a moving body workout that was developed by Juiliu Horvath. Horvath was a dancer in the Rumanian State Opera. During the late eighties he developed Gyrotonics in the White Cloud Studio in New York City.

Gyrotonics is based on a number of different disciplines including yoga, ballet, swimming, dance, tai chi and gymnastics. Horvath designed a series of fluid exercises that are performed on a piece of equipment that Horvath also designed.

The Gyrotonics Tower/Handle Machines have wheelbases and suspended pulleys that work to create resistance. Gyrontonics has 50 sets of different exercises that have 130 variations. These exercises include a number of different stretches, bends, twists and turns. All of these moves are performed with a small amount of effort.

The building up of the range of motion combined with cardiovascular and aerobic stimulation and neuromuscular rejuvenation all work to make balance and coordination better.

As students of Gyrotonics, breathing control and the control of resistance improved strength ad flexibility. Gyrontonics works the entire body and improves breathing. Some people take the Gyrontonics class with a Pilates class, while others take Gyrotnics exclusively.

Gyrontonics is taught in the Moving Body Fitness Studio that is located in Woodstock, New York. Other mind body exercises such as Pilates and yoga, are also taught there. Students range in age from elderly to children. Everyone ca benefit from Gyrontonics.

Gyrontonics is a system of exercises that works to help students of the practice stretch and strength muscle at the same time that they are articulating and mobilizing joints. This is the way to enhance coordination and aerobic activity.
